The guest experience of children
must not be overlooked in any healthcare environment.
Space must be specifically created and scaled to
create a safe and inviting environment that stimulates
the senses through texture, color, activities, and
whimsical elements that capture the imagination
and mitigates the stress of the unknown. |
Program Management allowed the successful
unbundling of services and their relocation to create
better flow and optimization of space and services
while establishing a “hospitality environment” that
enhanced the guest experience through way finding,
more direct access to services, and a more cohesive
healing environment. |

Property Management and Program Management
combined to provide a new public face to the community.
Looking at the whole of the real estate holding,
a precise use planned was developed resulting in
a gateway tower of 5 stories (expandable to 8) in
lieu of the original 3-story limitation and accomplished
within the parameters of the original budget. |

Fragmented, institutionalized, segregated
are terms applicable to the surgery, radiology and
GI waiting areas which had no a single point of
contact or information. This was replaced by a concierge’s
desk centralized with guest support services within
a renovated waiting and family consultation area
that emphasized a compassioned face to the healing
environment where guests and providers interact. |
